  • •Ensure specialist functions (insider threat, threat hunting, incident response, digital forensics, vulnerability assessment) work as one operation.
  • •Maintain coverage across shifts and staffing gaps without relying on who is on duty.
  • •Provide leadership reporting that reflects changes, real severity/impact, and program exposure—not just ticket counts.
  • •Continuously improve SOC operations using lessons from real incidents, standards, and playbooks.

Key Requirements

  • •Have run a security operations center or equivalent detection and response function.
  • •Have managed a team through a real incident and explain what you’d do differently.

  • •Hold an active CBP BI, a fitness determination at another DHS component, or an active DoD clearance (or be able to begin processing).
