Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical advice and coordinate WHO Country Office activities supporting MEDEVAC under the supervision of the WHO Health Emergencies lead.
  • •Maintain an overview of the MEDEVAC situation in Jordan by advising on MEDEVAC & repatriation criteria, critically reviewing and using evidence-based data for recommendations.
  • •Act as the key focal point for MEDEVAC action and coordinate stakeholder engagement with MOH, government authorities, NGOs, and receiving/transiting member state counterparts.
  • •Ensure programmatic planning and timely delivery by subcontractors; take management responsibility for contractor delivery and ensure connectivity and complementarity.
  • •Coordinate reviews, analyze and synthesize incoming information, provide regular updates across the reporting matrix, and oversee quality control and compliance with WHO and donor requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •First university degree in Medicine (advanced university degree in Medicine is desirable).
  • •Minimum five years of work experience with international exposure in health sector coordination, including critical patient care and transfers and MEDEVAC experience.
  • •Documented operational and technical knowledge in medical evacuations, including experience establishing systems and processes based on needs.
  • •Experience designing and implementing MHPSS interventions during humanitarian crises and emergencies is desirable.
  • •Related experience in concept note/proposal writing, log frames, budget development, and program implementation, including management of financial and human resources.
