Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with Payroll Compliance Management on tax legislative changes and support implementation projects.
  • •Manage tax TPA vendors to meet tax payment, compliance, and reporting deadlines; oversee periodic, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
  • •Serve as the tax SME for federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations (including all 50 states) and ensure Workday employer tax setup compliance with IRS, DOL, and legislation.
  • •Perform tax research and analysis, maintain tax rates/jurisdictions by work location, and verify reciprocal tax agreements and resident/work-in state taxation differences.
  • •Complete GL, payroll, quarterly, and annual tax reconciliations, manage SUI/SIT/local account closures and registrations, and support escalated tax/payroll/accounting issues and expatriate taxation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Human Resource Management, or 9 years of work equivalency.
  • •5+ years of experience with mid to large (30,000+) employer, multi-state, multi-EIN payroll tax processing.
  • •3-4 years of Workday Payroll experience.
  • •Advanced payroll tax filing knowledge, including abatement processes for penalty & interest fees.
  • •3-4 years with ADP Smart Compliance and W2/W2c Manager, plus 2-3 years of GL reconciliations and proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
