Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
  • •Conduct on-site hands-on protective relay testing using Omicron and Doble relay test sets and test relay families such as SEL and GE.
  • •Follow safety protocols, participate in daily safety briefings, lead tailgate safety meetings, and perform job hazard analyses with regulatory compliance walkthrough support.
  • •Use field forms and digital data tools/mobile applications to document activities; prepare field logs, sketches, and digital reports.
  • •Provide technical direction to junior staff, support project execution with risk mitigation, and coordinate testing logistics with subcontractors.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum 9 years of experience in the electrical testing industry, including medium/high-voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • •Demonstrable expertise on transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes, including relay calibration using Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150 test sets.
  • •Proven experience with electrical field testing standards, practices, and procedures such as NETA, IEEE, and applicable NFPA standards (15 kV to 500 kV).
  • •Strong working knowledge of testing software for data review, including ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, and AcSELerator Quickset.
