Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide consultancy for design, design optimization, and construction administration of tunnel ventilation and fire life safety systems for transit, rail, and highway projects.
  • •Develop ventilation concepts and strategies, including designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications, and integrate performance prediction for tenability and fire life safety requirements.
  • •Produce design criteria, manuals, technical reports, and engineering calculations for traditional design-bid-build, design-build, and other procurement formats.
  • •Support commissioning and construction administration for tunnel ventilation and related systems.
  • •Assist with pursuit strategies and proposal technical approaches, mentor junior engineers, and publish technical articles in ISAVFT and ASHRAE.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS plus 8 years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Professional registration (PE) in at least one state, with ability and willingness to register in other states if needed.
  • •8+ years of design experience in HVAC, including heavy industrial ventilation or mine ventilation design and ancillary MEP designs.
  • •Experience designing heating/cooling load and ventilation system performance with interdisciplinary coordination and systems integration.
  • •Ability and willingness to work in the NYC office with occasional travel outside NYC.
