Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the design and implementation of data engineering solutions for Beef & Pork Analytics, including Fresh Meats data lake, hub, analytics, semantic, and reporting-ready layers.
  • •Translate business requirements, KPIs, and validation criteria into scalable data models, pipelines, transformations, and analytics-ready datasets.
  • •Build and orchestrate complex ETL/ELT pipelines with enterprise patterns for automation, dependency management, monitoring/alerting, and production support.
  • •Integrate and support source-system data into Data@Tyson/GCP (e.g., DB2, SAP, USDA), including replication, freshness monitoring, reconciliation, and exception handling.
  • •Provide operational support for analytics products, including incident triage, access/security questions, pipeline failures, production reporting impacts, and mentoring engineers/analysts.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of relevant, practical experience in data engineering, cloud data platforms, and enterprise analytics/data warehousing or related delivery.
  • •Strong SQL skills for enterprise reporting datasets, dashboards, semantic models, and downstream analytics consumption.
  • •Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, preferably GCP and BigQuery, and designing multi-layer data architectures (e.g., lake/hub/curated/semantic/dimensional/medallion models).
  • •Experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, monitoring/alerting, dependency management, failure handling, and production support.
  • •Understanding of data governance and security controls, including metadata/lineage/stewardship workflows and role-based, row-level, and column-level access patterns.
