Job Summary

Investigate litigated credit hire claims and manage a caseload of DA credit hire files, potentially including personal injury, under your Team Leader’s supervision. Review and analyze files, conduct legal research, negotiate by telephone with third-party solicitors, and liaise with insured parties and insurers. Carry out case-management actions, complete MI and billing, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and SRA standards while progressing matters through court processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Review and analyze credit hire case files throughout the life of the matter in line with client guidelines.
•Formulate an initial litigation strategy for Team Leader approval.
•Perform legal research and conduct telephone negotiations with third-party solicitors.
•Liaise with insured parties and insurers as required and ensure task-list actions are completed in the Case Management System.
•Progress matters through court processes, including drafting defences and CPR Part 18/35 questions, and instructing counsel.

Key Requirements

•Experience of litigation and handling Credit Hire files while managing your own caseload.
•At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent; a degree or LPC is preferable.
•Good telephone negotiation skills and excellent listening and verbal communication.
•Ability to plan, prioritise, follow processes, and make decisions while remaining calm under pressure.
•Good IT skills including Word and Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System is preferred.
