Job Summary

Create and manage detailed construction/HVAC cost estimates to support bidding and project pricing. Develop scopes from design-build plans/specs, compile material and subcontractor pricing, and perform equipment take-off and configuration/voltage validation. Review bid documents for constructability and conflicts, lead pre-bid scope reviews, and identify cost savings and risk items while partnering with Account Management and operations to control cost variations.

Key Responsibilities

•Produce cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, and labor to support Account Managers’ bidding and project pricing.
•Develop detailed scope and compile estimates using plans/specifications, scope definitions, and project data.
•Create detailed cost estimates, including system sketches, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposals, and vendor/subcontractor quotes.
•Perform take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy (quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options).
•Review bid documents and proposals for conflicts/constructability issues, lead pre-bid scope meetings, and identify cost savings and risk items; assist with acquisition and customer satisfaction.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
•Project management and/or HVACR-related work experience.
•Experience with construction estimating, project bidding, and/or procurement.
•Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and HVAC systems, electrical systems, and temperature controls.
•Understanding of construction methods/practices with ability to communicate with and direct subcontractors to obtain proposal information.
