Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead cross-team backend initiative design and delivery, identifying and removing systemic bottlenecks across product and infrastructure groups.
  • •Drive modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture strategy, including monolith and legacy modernization to prevent fragmentation and service sprawl.
  • •Define and improve standards for APIs/contracts, compatibility, schema evolution, testing, security, performance, observability, operability, and maintainability, including production-readiness practices.
  • •Create shared patterns for dependency management, data ownership, eventing, failure isolation, service maturity, and operational documentation; establish Go service patterns and Kubernetes operating practices and guide Rust adoption where relevant.
  • •Participate in on-call/incident response, act as escalation during complex incidents, mentor senior and intermediate engineers, and lead safe adoption of AI-assisted/agentic engineering workflows with quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails.

  • •Deep backend architecture and production experience scaling complex applications, services, or platforms (e.g., governing/scaling APIs, modular monoliths, shared backend components).
  • •Experience modernizing a monolith or legacy backend in production toward modular architectures (e.g., bounded contexts, service extraction, event-driven boundaries).
