Job Summary

Overhead Line Principal Engineer responsible for the design of 11kV to 400kV overhead line circuits, leading design teams, ensuring UK standards compliance, and coordinating transmission-tower projects using PLS-CADD, PLS Tower, and PLS Pole across UK/public sector contexts.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare, review, and approve transmission line tower and foundation designs including associated documents and accessories.
•Prepare engineering documents related to transmission tower and foundation design.
•Design according to relevant codes and standards.
•Optimize tower and foundation weight relative to tender quantities.
•Design transmission towers using PLS Tower, PLS CADD for line design, and PLS Pole for pole design.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience in the design of UK Overhead Line Circuits (Towers and/or Poles) up to 400kV.
•Bachelor's in civil/structural or electrical engineering with 12+ years’ experience; UK project and standards experience is advantageous.
•Experience leading and mentoring teams, independently managing projects, delivering complex designs on schedule and within budget.
•Knowledge of applicable engineering standards.
•Ability to design with PLS-CADD, PLS Tower, and PLS Pole or similar.
