Job Summary

Lead greenfield renewable, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other low-emission generation projects through the full development lifecycle. Coordinate regulatory filing support and data requests for wind, solar, battery and fuel cell projects; identify and acquire land/real estate rights; and advance pre-development, permitting, interconnection, and decommissioning plans. Partner with renewable construction teams to transition projects from development to construction while preparing management updates and business cases for approvals.

Key Responsibilities

•Support greenfield renewable and BESS project development activities to implement long-term generation transformation goals.
•Coordinate regulatory filings support for wind, battery, fuel cell and solar projects, including data request and activities for Missouri Public Service Commission certificate of convenience and necessity filings.
•Identify, evaluate, and acquire land/real estate rights; conduct diligence for potential property purchase or lease and coordinate with local authorities and landowners.
•Support pre-development and permitting work, including preliminary design, soil testing, site surveying, environmental evaluations, and negotiation of decommissioning plans and related agreements.
•Evaluate proposals and market/project opportunities for solar, BESS and fuel cells; support interconnection processes and partner with construction to ensure development handoff and management presentations for Board approvals.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 84,400 - 172,200 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering, finance, economics or business.
•Two or more years (Specialist), five or more years (Manager), or seven or more years (Senior Manager) of relevant professional energy experience (e.g., wind/solar project development, contracting/negotiations, project engineering/design, project controls, project finance).
•Willingness/ability to travel regionally in the Midwest is required.
•Excellent working knowledge of the utility industry, MISO, real estate development, power project engineering, Ameren policies, procedures and regulatory matters.
•Must be capable of leading prospect development through complex negotiations for handoff to construction and project management teams.
