Job Summary

Design and scale secure, innovative AI/ML systems that solve real, high-impact problems for Mercado Envios. Build models with strong engineering practices, translate business/operations needs into technical solutions, and own forecasting model monitoring and improvement for shipping equipment consumption. Collaborate across the team end-to-end, support technical sizing/unblocking, and communicate results clearly to analysts, leaders, and managers. Hybrid work at the Chile site.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement engineering best practices for developing and deploying models, including object-oriented programming.
•Present and explain results effectively to different audiences across the company.
•Translate business/operations problems into technical terms and propose ad-hoc solutions using statistical/ML approaches for time series.
•Monitor, maintain, and evolve forecasting models for shipping equipment consumption, identifying improvement opportunities.
•Collaborate end-to-end with the team, act as a technical reference, and share learnings and best practices with peers and other areas.

Key Requirements

•Experience with Python, SQL, and Git.
•Proficiency in object-oriented programming.
•Strong statistical and data science background, especially time series and forecasting models.
•Ability to apply feature engineering and applied machine learning.
•Experience covering the end-to-end ML workflow from development to production.
