Job Summary

Lead powertrain system design and development for mining/drilling equipment across the product development lifecycle. Own powertrain and component design, including engine/driveline selection, cooling, exhaust/aftertreatment, clutch and related systems, and guide integration into overall equipment design. Drive testing and validation, develop test protocols, and address powertrain design deficiencies using scientific failure analysis. Mentor junior engineers and maintain technical documentation in line with CE checklists.

Key Responsibilities

•Take a lead role in powertrain system design and development across the product development lifecycle to meet performance, reliability, quality, and cost objectives.
•Lead powertrain system and component design for drilling equipment at the Surface Division, including engine/driveline selection and integration into overall equipment design.
•Plan and execute testing and validation activities, including developing test protocols to validate powertrain performance under various conditions.
•Develop and implement permanent solutions for powertrain deficiencies found during product verification using scientific methodologies for failure analysis.
•Mentor junior engineers in testing and validation and ensure proper technical file maintenance and upgrades for assigned products.

Key Requirements

•15 to 20 years of working experience in construction/mining equipment powertrain system design and development (surface mining products).
•Proficiency in Creo and Teamcenter for powertrain planning, component selection, and powertrain system calculation documentation.
•Strong powertrain knowledge, including planning for homologation and regulatory procedures.
•Experience designing and tuning core component installations and operating environments within vehicles in line with installation guidelines and subsystem specifications.
•Good communication and analytical skills, with attention to details and strong responsibility.
