Job Summary

Lead the design and delivery of AI-first, event-driven, cloud-native payment services. Build and modernize microservices, decompose legacy components using domain-driven design and strangler patterns, and instrument systems for safe AI copilots and autonomous runbooks. Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and ship high-quality microservices and event-driven capabilities for modern experiences.
•Partner with architecture, product, data science, and AI platform teams to embed machine learning and AI-assisted workflows in customer and operational journeys.
•Lead modernization of legacy components using domain-driven design, strangler patterns, and AI-accelerated refactoring.
•Instrument and document systems so AI copilots and autonomous runbooks can observe, learn, and act safely using telemetry, feature flags, and guardrails.
•Drive engineering excellence with design reviews, automated testing, chaos/resilience practices, and codified reliability standards, and improve developer experience with automated pipelines and AI-enabled tooling.

Key Requirements

•8–12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in complex, distributed, highly regulated environments.
•Expert-level Java with fluency in modern frameworks, testing libraries, and build tooling.
•Hands-on experience with AWS (or comparable cloud) and building containerized cloud-native services on Kubernetes.
•Working knowledge of event-driven architectures and streaming platforms such as Kafka to model, test, and operate event flows at scale.
•Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability stacks, and Site Reliability/DevOps practices, plus demonstrated use of AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
