Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the management and embedding of Reputational, Sustainability and Climate Risk across Asia sites in line with risk frameworks, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • •Lead reputational risk management across the 2LoD and provide stewardship over 1LoD reputational risk activities, including risks related to net zero commitments and greenwashing.
  • •Provide subject matter expertise and effective challenge to Risk and Control Owners for sustainability and climate risk, including advice to Global Businesses and Global Functions.
  • •Monitor developments and changes in regulations and guidance, assess implications for HSBC, and embed climate risk into processes and behaviors.
  • •Join relevant committees and working groups and provide improved senior stakeholder insight and decision-making for reputational, sustainability, and climate risk.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in risk management at a Globally Significant Financial Institution (GSFI).
  • •Strong knowledge of the regulatory landscape and ability to assess impacts of regulatory changes on reputational, sustainability, and climate risk.
  • •Technical expertise in reputational, sustainability, and climate risk—how it is identified, assessed, monitored, controlled, and mitigated.
  • •Strong ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and persuade stakeholders.
  • •A BA or BS university degree; advanced degrees are preferable (e.g., MBA, MSc, PhD).
