Join our Ohio Buildings + Places team as a Fire Protection Engineer to design and deliver fire protection and life-safety systems for complex building projects. Based in Cleveland or Columbus, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to NFPA/IBC compliance, and support a range of facilities from federal labs to higher education, applying code-compliant approaches across markets.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform defined portions of fire protection engineering assignments under the supervision of senior engineers.
•Collect, analyze, and correlate engineering data using established procedures and standards.
•Prepare calculations and technical documentation for routine fire protection and life safety systems.
•Assist in the development of engineering approaches for non-standard design challenges.
•Identify and resolve discrepancies in calculations, drawings, or design outputs.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 75,000 - 100,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 2+ years of relevant fire protection or related engineering experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
•U.S. citizenship
•Valid driver’s license
•Experience using Revit and AutoCAD (preferred)
•Working knowledge of NFPA standards and International Building and Fire Codes (preferred)
