Key Responsibilities

  • •Interface with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to develop innovative Layer1 features.
  • •Architect, design, and manage development of Layer1 features from definition through deployment.
  • •Develop and maintain Layer1 features using C, C++ and Python; review specifications and build automated test infrastructure.
  • •Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new Layer1 components to market and design software control interfaces.
  • •Analyze customer network issues and test problems, provide fixes, and mentor new/junior engineers in Arista’s software environment.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering with 6 years experience, or MS with 4 years, or Ph.D. with 3 years, or equivalent work experience.
  • •Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
  • •Experience working with low-level hardware components and Layer1-style physical connectivity.
  • •Knowledge of digital communication technologies (modulation and signal encoding schemes).
  • •Knowledge of UNIX or Linux and strong software engineering principles for troubleshooting and scalable performance.
