Job Summary

Complete structural drafting assignments with limited supervision, acting as an informal resource to less-experienced colleagues. Supervise and oversee structural drafters to deliver accurate, timely fabrication deliverables within the EPCI industry. Interpret engineering drawings and client requirements, perform quality control for structural design/layouts, and mentor team members. Build and update 3D models and shop drawings using Tekla and CAD tools, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to resolve design conflicts.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise and oversee a team of structural drafters to ensure accurate, timely completion of fabrication projects within the EPCI industry.
•Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements to guide preparation of detailed structural design drawings.
•Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure compliance with applicable structural codes, standards, and regulations.
•Utilize CAD tools (AutoCAD, TEKLA, Navisworks, Revit) to create and modify 3D models, assemblies, shop drawings, and BOM for fabrication and installation.
•Coordinate with engineering and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design conflicts and integrate systems, supporting procurement and construction with documentation and as-built drawings.

Key Requirements

•Minimum High School Diploma with a bachelor’s degree/diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering or a related field plus 3 years’ experience; or 7 years’ experience as a Structural Drafter or similar role in the EPCI industry, preferably with hands-on experience supervising a team.
•Strong proficiency in 3D (Tekla) and 2D (AutoCAD/Microstation) structural drafting, modeling, and drawing extraction.
•Extensive knowledge of structural design codes and standards such as API, AISC, ACI, and ASCE.
•Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements accurately.
•Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
