Job Summary

Design and analyze high-voltage and low-voltage battery packs and energy storage modules, covering CAD work, thermal management, and structural analysis. Use FEA and CFD to evaluate structural/thermal performance and thermal runaway mitigation, and produce and release engineering drawings and product definitions. Partner with electrical, BMS software, and manufacturing teams to integrate cell-level hardware and support prototyping and onsite environmental testing.

•Perform CAD design of battery modules, enclosures, structural support frames, and thermal management components.
•Run FEA and CFD analyses to evaluate structural and thermal systems, including thermal runaway propagation mitigation.
•Generate, review, and release engineering drawings and product definitions.
•Collaborate with electrical, BMS software, and manufacturing teams to integrate cell-level hardware into system architectures.
•Support prototyping, environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal cycling, penetration testing), and manufacturing operations onsite.

Key Requirements

•5+ years performing mechanical design and analysis of complex hardware, ideally involving battery modules or power systems.
•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar.
•Experience using advanced CAD (NX or SolidWorks) and FEA/CFD software.
•Strong understanding of hardware manufacturability, material selection, and GD&T.
•Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret security clearance.
