Key Responsibilities

  • •Complete the STA Level 2 swim teaching qualification training course with full attendance.
  • •Deliver safe, fun, progressive swimming lessons using the Swim England learn to swim framework.
  • •Interact heavily with customers and support people of all ages and backgrounds throughout lessons.
  • •Develop confidence and progression for swimmers, including those who may progress to competition.
  • •Once qualified, take on casual/contract swimming teacher shifts across participating leisure centres to match available hours.

Key Requirements

  • •No current swimming teaching qualifications required, but you must be willing to gain an STA Level 2 Swim teaching qualification.
  • •100% attendance is required for the full training course dates in November (2nd, 3rd, 9th–13th).
  • •Willingness to complete an NRASTC lite qualification.
  • •Be able to complete DBS checks and pay attention to required safeguarding/DBS processes as part of onboarding.
  • •Strong communication and customer service skills to support people of all ages and backgrounds during lessons.
