Key Responsibilities

  • •Coach and counsel managers on employee relations issues, complaints, disputes, discipline procedures, and termination risk assessments.
  • •Investigate workplace conflict by conducting interviews, assessing evidence, and facilitating conflict-resolution or team-building sessions.
  • •Administer grievances from intake through investigation, responses, settlement discussions, and arbitration preparation (including required documentation).
  • •Interpret and apply collective agreements and related agreements, and support collective bargaining through research, issue analysis, proposal drafting, and implementation planning.
  • •Maintain complete, confidential case files and prepare reports and guidance/training for managers and HR; coordinate labour-management meetings and labour board matters.

Key Requirements

  • •5–7 years of relevant employee and labour relations experience, with strong understanding of HR policies and administrative guidelines.
  • •Advanced knowledge of workplace investigations, corrective action, performance management, conflict resolution, and termination risk assessment.
  • •Strong knowledge of Canadian labour relations principles and working knowledge of British Columbia labour and employment legislation.
  • •Proven ability to interpret and apply collective agreements, memoranda of agreement, letters of understanding, arbitral principles, and past practice.
  • •Strong grievance administration and dispute-resolution skills, including mediation support and arbitration preparation.
