Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and enforce the contractor’s safety program for facility maintenance and airfield operations under a DoD contract.
  • •Act as OSHA Competent Person on-site and provide subject matter expertise on 29 CFR 1910, 1926, and EM 385-1-1.
  • •Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety legislation and maintain policies/procedures for regulatory compliance.
  • •Design and deliver safety training, chair quarterly safety meetings, and lead the Employee Safety Council.
  • •Conduct on-site safety audits, manage accident investigations and recurrence prevention, and oversee Worker’s Compensation and Federal DOT compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be able to pass a background check.
  • •HS diploma required.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical field preferred.
  • •Experience on similar projects and possess a 10-hour OSHA construction safety class (or equivalent) within the last 3 years, plus competent person training as required.
  • •Ability to create, implement, and monitor safety programs and training while evaluating contract activities for improvement opportunities.
