Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership and architectural direction across Axis’s backend systems and services.
  • •Design and evolve scalable, highly available, secure distributed systems for high-volume financial transactions.
  • •Lead architecture of microservices and define service boundaries using DDD principles.
  • •Architect event-driven systems and reliable business workflows using Temporal or similar orchestration, including failure-handling strategies.
  • •Lead investigations for complex production incidents and drive improvements in performance, scalability, resilience, fault tolerance, and observability.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and building backend and distributed systems.
  • •Strong proficiency in at least one of Go, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • •Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Node.js, Express.js, or NestJS.
  • •Deep understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD) concepts.
  • •Extensive experience designing event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration (preferably Temporal), plus strong REST API design and observability knowledge.
