Job Summary

Civil Engineer to join the Southwest Dams team working on water resource projects for mining, dams, and power sectors. Will perform civil, hydrologic, and hydraulic design, develop surface water models, dam breach studies, and reports, with opportunities to grow technical and leadership skills while collaborating with multidiscipline teams across regional projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Contribute to the design of regional mine sites, power plants, and dams, including facilities such as stockpiles, impoundments, tailing dams, and water dams.
•Generate conceptual layouts/designs and perform calculations/analyses for channels, culverts, headwalls, detention ponds, operating ponds, spillways, rock drains, check dams, and haulage/access/circulation roads.
•Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-HMS and/or HEC-RAS.
•Develop quantity and cost estimates, and alternative assessments.
•Prepare drafts of portions of technical proposals, reports, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 85,000 - 110,000 annually

Key Requirements

•BA/BS in Civil Engineering + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
•Valid US Driver's License
•Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within 1 year of employment
•Ability to travel
•Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, AutoCAD Civil3D, ArcGIS
