Key Responsibilities

  • •Play an important role in a team of aquatic ecologists across AECOM offices and laboratories.
  • •Support the Team Leader with business development in Scotland.
  • •Provide technical leadership for aquatic ecology within your area of expertise across the UK.
  • •Deliver aquatic ecology input into EIA, planning, mitigation, monitoring, and multi-disciplinary projects, including ecological impact assessment documents aligned with CIEEM guidelines.
  • •Mentor and line manage team members and manage aquatic ecology input into projects (survey design and costing), authoring/reviewing technical reports and developing data analysis and processing.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience of ecological impact assessment (EcIA/EIA).
  • •Experience of WFD compliance assessment and understanding of WFD-compliant monitoring techniques.
  • •Understanding of industry standard monitoring techniques and analyses for aquatic ecology, including consenting/permitting requirements.
  • •Knowledge of legislation relating to the aquatic environment and implementation of the Water Framework Directive.
  • •Full UK driving licence.
