Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership for electrical components of multidisciplinary industrial projects and serve as lead electrical engineer.
  • •Lead and mentor the electrical engineering team, coordinating effectively with electrical designers and other engineering disciplines.
  • •Execute electrical and design activities from concept through front-end engineering development, technical studies, and detailed design.
  • •Perform power system studies and engineering design work including equipment specifications and selection, power distribution layouts, grounding, LV/MV motor sizing, cable distribution design, and single-line schematic deliverables.
  • •Ensure quality control and code compliance for deliverables; support procurement evaluation (MRQ/MRP, supplier proposals), construction work package development, and occasional construction supervision/commissioning.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 160,000 - 200,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •20+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • •At least 10 years leading the electrical discipline on large minerals and metals projects.
  • •Experience on at least 5 multi-million dollar projects in the Mining industry.
  • •Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree from a recognized university; ideal degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized North American university.
  • •Must be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or able to register within ~3 months; authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
