Job Summary

Lead Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Gifted & Talented (G&T) provision to ensure quality attainment and progress for supported students. Oversee day-to-day SEN operations, manage budgets, track student outcomes, coordinate IEPs and interventions, and conduct assessments and screening. Line manage SEN-focused learning assistants, mentor staff, work closely with parents and external agencies, and ensure required exam/assessment accommodations are in place.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure appropriate SEN, EAL, and G&T quality provision, including attainment and progress for identified students.
•Create, monitor, and review SS policies and procedures; maintain registers for students requiring support and exam/assessment accommodations.
•Oversee day-to-day SEN operations, track targeted student progress, and support identification through individual assessments and screening.
•Design, coordinate, and implement interventions and IEPs; lead and document lesson/student observations and reports as required.
•Line manage and mentor SEN team staff (including training/coaching classroom learning assistants) and coordinate with parents and external agencies.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in special education and teaching certification (educational leadership/management workshops preferred).
•5 years’ experience teaching Special Education.
•2 years’ senior or middle leadership experience in a similar setting.
•Expert knowledge of SEN, EAL, and G&T quality provision and curriculum.
•Knowledge of child protection and health and safety, plus strong communication and relationship-management skills.
