Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and families at assigned installations.
  • •Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations (including with a commander or other provider), and deliver briefings, presentations, and referral resources.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials and assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, including pre- and post-deployment and career events.
  • •Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol, communicate with leadership, and participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (may consider associate degree plus 4 years, or high school diploma plus 6 years).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract).
  • •Must have one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
