Key Responsibilities

  • •Follow safe operating practices and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • •Perform PM and DOT inspections and complete follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems, including brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, and steering systems; perform welding and fabrication as needed.
  • •Determine parts required for each job and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department; manage concurrent tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • •Document work and complete DOT and other required forms on repair orders, uploading photos using company-issued devices and/or the Karmak application.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination such as additional certification/degree or 5 years of experience.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Must be able to pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening.
  • •Must have a current and valid DOT medical card (or complete a DOT physical if needed).
  • •Required certifications obtained within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI).
