Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and lead technical delivery of data migration engagements end to end, including assessments, migration strategy and wave planning, transformation, pipeline build, validation, and production cutover.
  • •Design and operate CDC pipelines for zero/near-zero-downtime migrations using Kafka and connector ecosystems with Debezium and comparable log-based CDC tooling.
  • •Bring platform depth to de-risk migrations across Cassandra, Cosmos DB (Core and Mongo API) partitioning/RU economics, and DocumentDB compatibility surfaces.
  • •Partner directly with enterprise customers across technical and executive stakeholders from whiteboard to production cutover.
  • •Support pre-sales and practice growth by scoping and sizing opportunities, surfacing risks and improvements, and building AI tooling and reusable migration assets.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or consulting delivery roles centered on data platforms and production-scale data movement.
  • •Hands-on expertise in at least one of Apache Cassandra, Azure Cosmos DB, or Amazon DocumentDB—deep enough to reason about data models, consistency, partitioning, and failure modes.
  • •Real-world CDC and streaming pipeline experience with Kafka/Confluent Platform and connectors, including Debezium (or equivalent) and schema evolution trade-offs.
  • •Solid grounding in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and extracting data without breaking business operations.
  • •Competence in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Node.js, C#, or Go) to build pipeline glue, validation harnesses, and tooling.
