Key Responsibilities

  • •Device Packaging and Bring-Up: Take superconducting-qubit devices from post-fab packaging to operational readiness, including wirebonding, shielding, and thermalization; design/adapt microwave-compatible PCBs and enclosures for signal routing and control electronics.
  • •Experimental Setup and Measurement Infrastructure: Build and maintain dilution refrigerator measurement setups; specify/install/test microwave and cryogenic hardware (attenuators, filters, isolators, circulators, switches, low-noise amplifiers); develop procedures for cooldowns and diagnostics.
  • •Qubit Calibration and Characterisation: Run resonator/qubit spectroscopy, Rabi/Ramsey/echo, T1/T2, readout optimization, and two-qubit gate calibration; track metrics and debug issues like crosstalk and TLS effects.
  • •Lab Development and Instrument Control: Lead lab setup and scaling; write/adapt control software to interface with AWGs, microwave sources, DC sources, digitizers, and FPGA controllers; ensure calibrations are reproducible and automatable.
  • •Collaboration and System Integration: Work with physicists, ML engineers, and backend developers to integrate hardware, software, and data; provide feedback on usability and performance; translate lab realities into product requirements and roadmaps.
