Job Summary

Lead validation and debugging for AMD server EPYC and AI platforms within the Server Platform Solution Engineering group’s Debug team. Drive root-cause analysis across platform, SoC logical, performance, and BIOS/firmware issues, focusing on high-speed data-center I/O (PCIe, CXL) and RAS. Improve debug methodologies over time while collaborating with architecture, design, firmware, and software teams, and communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead debugging efforts for AI/server SoC platforms across PCIe/CXL and RAS domains to resolve issues seen during program execution.
•Provide root cause analysis for platform issues in data center environments, covering platform level, SoC logical, performance, and BIOS/firmware issues.
•Improve debug capabilities and methodology by identifying recurring challenges and working with design, firmware, and software teams.
•Manage and track technical issues, risks, and priorities with the business unit and SW debug tools teams.
•Communicate program status, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to customer and executive stakeholders, including senior management.

Key Requirements

•BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or related major) with 12+ years of applicable experience.
•Strong understanding of server platform components and x86 (or other complex CPU architectures), with Linux and/or Microsoft operating systems proficiency.
•Expertise in IO interfaces (PCIe, CXL), RAS features, and power management to execute comprehensive system-level test plans.
•Knowledge of BMC firmware and features, including IPMI and Redfish, plus sensor monitoring, power control, and remote management.
•Experience debugging with oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and JTAG-based debug tools, using C, Python, and shell scripting.
