Job Summary

Own the strategic supplier network development and cost engineering for the Connected Warfare product portfolio across its lifecycle. Partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing) to select suppliers, scope concepts, develop tradeoffs and clean-sheet models, and consolidate manufacturing BOMs. Manage CAPEX through NPI, run value-stream mapping, complete BOM risk assessments and component qualifications, and drive commonality and TCO optimization while addressing tariff and cost-inflation issues.

•Conduct supplier selection using the approved supplier list.
•Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development (concept scoping, trade tables, should-cost/clean sheet models, SOW-based joint design development).
•Drive manufacturing BOM development and consolidation with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with suppliers.
•Manage CAPEX throughout NPI and perform value-stream mapping to improve supply network lead time and flexibility.
•Lead cost engineering activities to converge the bottoms-up cost curve, optimize commonality, manage BOM risk/alternate sourcing, and resolve ad-hoc cost issues (tariffs, import/export cost, cost inflation).

Travel: High travel

Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other technical field.
•6+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of mechanical and/or electrical devices.
•Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
•Ability to travel 10%–40% based on program needs.
•Ability to relocate to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA if not already local.
