Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and maintain submissions for US government trade controls, customs registrations, authorizations, reports, and license applications, including defense-related export licenses.
  • •Provide regulatory guidance on ITAR/EAR implementation, support drafting or negotiation of trade compliance contract language, and maintain trade compliance policies and training materials.
  • •Triage and respond to export control incidents and sanctions issues, including adjudicating foreign national access to ITAR-controlled data during international travel.
  • •Conduct due diligence and risk assessments on third-party entities using compliance databases/tooling and public-record research.
  • •Coordinate cross-functional legal and compliance initiatives across export controls, sanctions compliance, and third-party integrity.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 3 years of experience working on a risk or compliance team.
  • •Must be eligible to access and work with US export-controlled and restricted materials, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and CUI.
  • •Expert knowledge and experience drafting and applying for export and import authorizations.
  • •Understanding of the overlap and distinctions between US trade controls and DoD CUI controls, including assistance with terms of use compliance for government-furnished CUI.
