Job Summary

Lead the Media Foundations & Delivery team to help make media a first-class citizen through extensible architecture and infrastructure modernization. Drive QoS and streaming outcomes across the globe by optimizing playback metrics (TTFF, stall/rebuffer, EBVS), scaling via CDNs, edge computing, and caching, and standardizing protocols and formats (HLS, MPEG-DASH, CMAF, MP4). Manage cross-platform engineers and partner with Product, Data, and ML.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the architectural shift to elevate media to a first-class citizen.
•Own key streaming QoS metrics including TTFF, stall/rebuffer rates, and exits before video screen (EBVS).
•Partner with infrastructure teams to scale media using CDNs, edge computing, and caching strategies.
•Drive standardization across streaming protocols and container formats, including HLS, MPEG-DASH, CMAF, and MP4.
•Provide engineering leadership and set a technical vision while partnering with Product, Data, and ML teams.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
•8+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years of engineering management experience leading complex, high-volume consumer systems.
•Experience managing cross-platform teams (Backend and Mobile/Client) is highly preferred.
•Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, Go, or Python.
•Strong background in video streaming technologies, CDN routing, media ingestion, and adaptive bitrate streaming.
