Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead other engineers, designers, and drafters and self-perform electrical substation structural design (foundations, structural supports, control building).
  • •Support substation physical design with bus analysis calculations and coordination across disciplines.
  • •Prepare calculation packages and ensure project plans, dimensions, materials, and quality meet client and WSP standards.
  • •Develop structural construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.
  • •Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction phase support, with occasional travel as required.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited college (BSCE).
  • •5 to 7 years of post-education experience in structural design.
  • •Expertise in structural analysis for steel and concrete, including soil mechanics and foundation design.
  • •Advanced knowledge of building codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IEEE, etc.).
  • •Successful completion of the NCEES Professional Engineering (PE) exam.
