Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a Principal Software Engineer for Cisco Secure Access, designing, developing, and delivering scalable and maintainable production applications.
  • •Build new product capabilities and improve existing processes and architecture, partnering with internal and external teams to define requirements.
  • •Oversee architecture, design, code quality, and deployments, and document technical specifications and solutions for architecture groups and leadership.
  • •Participate in design and code reviews, mentor junior developers, and evaluate new technology stacks and third-party tools through proof of concepts and benchmarks.
  • •Troubleshoot sophisticated system-level stability and scalability issues and drive operational readiness for distributed, cloud-native services.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Computer Science with 17+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10 years owning architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams from problem definition to operational support.
  • •7+ years of experience in a technical leadership role and architecture.
  • •10+ years of development experience in AWS cloud (or similar) and proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
  • •Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, APIs, microservices, multi-tenant services, and production operations.
  • •Experience building agentic systems and using AI to improve productivity across the SDLC.
