Key Responsibilities

  • •Fabricate optical components by machining glass, grinding/polishing, operating deposition chambers, and assembling/alignment to required accuracy.
  • •Actively monitor and take ownership of optical processing equipment, visually identifying abnormalities.
  • •Maintain 5S standards for the area, tooling, and equipment; identify and escalate unsafe conditions.
  • •Identify and escalate product or process quality concerns, and support assigned work to execute area and factory schedules.
  • •Inspect and document work by creating defect maps of glass surfaces, cleaning optical surfaces, and recording time and attendance.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED required.
  • •Associate degree in a vocational trade preferred.
  • •Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility or completion of a vocational certification preferable.
  • •Prior use of measuring equipment such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machine (CMM), or interferometer desirable.
  • •Participation in continuous improvement efforts (quality circles, kaizen events, etc.).
