Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as the Solar and related subject matter project delivery and technical lead in NZ, connecting with clients and the market to originate proposals.
  • •Lead the technical approach across client and AECOM teams, applying solar/electrical/renewable engineering capability to complex projects.
  • •Prepare and review principal requirements, technical schedules, and performance guarantees for solar and related assets.
  • •Lead procurement and tender evaluations by interrogating assumptions, exclusions, operating limits, warranted curves, design margins, lifecycle costs, and technical risks.
  • •Provide leadership in Owners Engineer, Project, or Design Management delivery, including mentoring and coaching engineers; support contract negotiations for guarantees, testing/acceptance, warranties, remedies, and O&M obligations.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years (ideally more) delivering solar or related energy engineering, with deep knowledge of solar and renewable project requirements.
  • •Experience building strong client relationships with technical engineering, project teams, contractors, OEMs, and site teams.
  • •Detailed understanding of solar and BESS performance criteria and guarantees (e.g., net power, usable energy, efficiency, degradation, warranties, acceptance testing).
  • •Experience with factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and verification of contractual performance requirements.
  • •Degree in Electrical or related engineering discipline; postgraduate/Chartered Engineer qualification is advantageous.
