Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement automation to provision and manage hundreds of isolated GitLab environments using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes, including state/workspace strategy.
  • •Troubleshoot production issues across Kubernetes clusters, cloud services, and GitLab apps, including failed deployments, crash loops, and scheduling conflicts.
  • •Automate operations at scale by replacing manual workflows with infrastructure-as-code solutions for upgrades, configuration rollouts, and provisioning pipelines.
  • •Build observability to detect bottlenecks, predict usage trends, and optimize resource consumption using Prometheus, ELK, and Grafana.
  • •Lead incident response and postmortems, and collaborate on architectural decisions for automation, scalability, and production readiness.

Key Requirements

  • •Operate and troubleshoot production workloads across multiple tenants or environments, with strong distributed-systems resilience knowledge.
  • •Hands-on Terraform expertise, including workspace strategies, state management, and scalable automation patterns; comfort resolving state isolation issues.
  • •Production Kubernetes experience, including diagnosing deployment failures, reading pod logs, debugging scheduling issues, and handling rollback scenarios.
  • •Ability to read and debug code in Go and/or Ruby, and contribute to infrastructure tooling through code analysis.
