Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and execute VM migrations using VMware HCX methods such as vMotion, bulk migration, cold migration, and replication-assisted vMotion.
  • •Deploy, configure, and manage VMware HCX components including Manager, Interconnect, WAN Optimization, and Network Extension.
  • •Assess and discover workloads to ensure migration readiness, including L2 network extension for minimal downtime.
  • •Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize performance during migrations.
  • •Validate post-migration application functionality and maintain migration documentation, runbooks, and execution reports; support DR and rollback strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •2–5 years of experience in virtualization and cloud migration, specifically VMware HCX workload migrations.
  • •Strong experience with VMware vSphere including ESXi and vCenter.
  • •Hands-on VMware HCX migration experience and understanding of migration strategies and tools.
  • •Networking knowledge (VLAN, VPN, routing, firewalls) including L2 network extension for minimal downtime.
  • •VMware certifications (VCP-DCV preferred) and/or HCX deployment or migration experience (advantage).
