Job Summary

Senior Bridge Inspector responsible for principal, general and special inspections of bridges and highway structures across the Shropshire region, providing technical input to projects and proposals while ensuring Health, Safety, Welfare and CDM compliance. Works within a collaborative Shropshire team (~75 people) on a mix of inspections, maintenance designs and cross-asset support, with flexible hybrid working options.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake principal, general and special inspections of bridges and other highway structures to DMRB and the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.
•Provide technical input to project briefs, proposals and deliverables with Project Managers.
•Collaborate with other disciplines, including Client teams, to deliver bridge maintenance designs and operational works.
•Contribute to technical excellence and innovation within the team and support personal development of colleagues.
•Work to tight deadlines and budgets while maintaining Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM compliance.

Key Requirements

•Experience of undertaking Principal Inspection, General Inspections and Special Inspections of Bridges and other Highway Structures to DMRB and the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.
•Work Independently and as part of a team to deliver bridge maintenance designs, resulting from bridge maintenance needs and operational works priorities.
•Provide technical input to the agreement of project briefs, proposals, and deliverables with Project Managers.
•Understanding of the importance of compliance with Health, Safety and Welfare and CDM responsibilities.
•Experience of working to tight deadlines and to budgets.
