Key Responsibilities

•Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements with customers and channel partners across multiple jurisdictions and industries.
•Support and evolve contracting approaches across customer segments including government, higher education, and regulated industries; negotiate flowdown terms with resellers and other channel partners.
•Support international and cross-border transactions across Canva’s group companies, managing regulatory considerations across jurisdictions.
•Respond promptly to legal questions from Sales, Finance, Deal Desk and other stakeholders to keep deals moving.
•Contribute to contract templates, playbooks, and training to enable GTM and cross-functional teams to handle routine commercial matters independently.

Key Requirements

•Qualified to practice law in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction (e.g. UK or EU member state)
•8+ years of in-house experience, primarily at a SaaS or fast-growth tech company
•Hands-on experience reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts including enterprise SaaS transactions, AI terms, and DPAs
•Excellent communication skills and ability to guide non-legal stakeholders
•Experience supporting international/cross-border transactions, ideally within EMEA or multi-jurisdictional environments
