Job Summary

Serve as a technical resource within the Knoxville Maintenance Organization, supporting safe and reliable operation of mechanical rotating equipment. Use rotating equipment expertise, EHS knowledge, and manufacturing experience to review preventative maintenance, specify and install parts, manage critical spares, and troubleshoot malfunctions with failure analysis. Partner with maintenance and reliability engineering to drive reliability improvements and mentor less-experienced mechanics.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as a technical resource for the maintenance team and provide technical guidance to drive high-quality repairs.
•Review and adjust preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and perform component sizing checks.
•Specify, requisition, and support installation of parts and equipment, including identification of critical spare parts.
•Troubleshoot malfunctions, direct repairs, document failure analysis, and collect equipment operation and history data for reliability improvements.
•Support maintenance planning activities, work within established maintenance work processes, and interface with Maintenance and Reliability engineering.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at/above U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class/Sergeant, plus 3 years of relevant experience; or 10+ years working directly with rotating equipment in lieu of a degree.
•Ability to participate in a maintenance support on-call schedule of approximately one week per quarter.
•Degree in mechanical engineering is a plus.
•Ability to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
•Ability to work in and around tight spaces and large machinery and meet physical requirements (including lift up to 50 lbs and use required PPE).
