Key Responsibilities

  • •Control the material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine.
  • •Operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine efficiently to support paving operations.
  • •Use a thorough understanding of the paving industry, including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, and job specifications.
  • •Ensure the equipment is maintained in efficient working condition by performing minor servicing and maintenance.
  • •Refer major equipment problems to the supervisor as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Prior experience operating the screed on an asphalt paving machine preferred.
  • •Experience with actual Screed Operation preferred.
  • •Topcon 5 Electronics experience preferred.
  • •Thorough understanding of asphalt paving including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, and compaction.
  • •Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
