Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide corrosion control and pipeline integrity support on a regional or system basis, including design and maintenance of cathodic protection and internal corrosion control facilities.
  • •Conduct cathodic protection activities such as annual pipe-to-soil surveys, rectifier readings/troubleshooting, interference testing, and as-built drawing preparation.
  • •Monitor pipeline condition using pipe-to-soil potentials, visual inspection, coupon examination, and in-line tool data.
  • •Perform atmospheric corrosion tasks including coating evaluations and technical assistance to district operations.
  • •Support pipeline integrity activities, including in-line inspection tool assistance, prove-up inspections, closure reports, regulatory documentation, and participation in federal inspections.

Key Requirements

  • •Two-year technical degree in Corrosion Technology, electrical, electronics, or equivalent from an approved and accredited college/university.
  • •Approved educational courses covering internal, external, and atmospheric corrosion.
  • •Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (and may be required to obtain/maintain a commercial driver’s license) and comply with commercial vehicle regulations.
  • •Understand and operate corrosion-related instrumentation and perform corrosion testing/measurements for cathodic protection and pipeline integrity.
  • •Proficient with computer skills (MS Office, operating systems, company software/technical systems) and basic math skills.
