Job Summary

Lead product design for multi-quarter platform initiatives for Zendesk’s Foundational and Core Platform team. Translate ambiguous platform problems into intuitive, human-centered experiences that scale globally, with a focus on AI-native interactions across agent workflows and tool-use surfaces. Prototype in code using agentic IDEs when needed, influence the product roadmap with systems thinking, and raise the craft bar through critique, pairing, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design for multi-quarter platform initiatives from problem framing through ship.
•Define design direction for ambiguous platform problems where key questions haven’t been asked yet.
•Design AI-native interactions across the platform, including agent workflows, tool-use surfaces, and trust/transparency patterns.
•Prototype in code using agentic IDEs when static mocks can’t answer the design question.
•Partner with Design Systems and influence the product roadmap with design insight, customer evidence, and systems thinking.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of professional product design experience, ideally for enterprise-grade software or complex SaaS platforms.
•Expert skills in Figma and prototyping tools, with a portfolio demonstrating high visual craft and interaction design.
•Demonstrated AI-native interaction design experience, with examples of patterns shipped or strongly advocated for.
•Comfort prototyping with code-based and agentic tools, and knowing when Figma vs. a working prototype is the right artifact.
•Experience working cross-functionally in a “three-in-a-box” model (Product, Engineering, and Design) and the ability to influence stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication.
