•Lead from the front on technical execution and guide design/implementation choices within your team
•Improve code structure and architecture; review code across the team and plan dependencies/risks
•Simplify maintenance and operation of production systems to improve visibility and health
•Build relationships with other engineering teams and identify collaboration opportunities
•Participate in the hiring process and coach the current team to improve efficiency and growth

Key Requirements

•Experience writing web-based applications in any language and a willingness to learn (Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust)
•Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
•Familiarity with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above)
•Familiarity with NoSQL data backends and technologies such as Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Memcache
•Active involvement in hiring processes and mentoring teammates
