Job Summary

Serve as Second Officer on a self-propelled cutter suction dredger, ensuring safe navigation and bridge watchkeeping in line with STCW and company procedures. Support the Master and Chief Officer with dredging execution, vessel positioning, and bridge equipment monitoring, including ECDIS, radar, and GPS. Maintain passage planning, charts, and deck records, support mooring/anchoring operations, and uphold safety, environmental, and ISM/ISPS compliance through drills, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

•Responsible for safe navigation and bridge watchkeeping as per STCW and company procedures.
•Assist Master and Chief Officer in execution of dredging operations and vessel positioning.
•Operate and monitor ECDIS, radar, GPS, and other bridge equipment during dredging and sailing.
•Maintain proper passage planning and updates of charts, publications, and Notices to Mariners.
•Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and ISM/ISPS regulations onboard.

Key Requirements

•Certificate as Officer In Charge of Navigation Watch
•Basic & advanced STCW training certificate
•MLC/Seafarer’s medical fitness certificate
•2nd Officer with dredging experience on Self-propelled Cutter suction dredger as Dredge Mate.
