Job Summary

Lead as a principal mechanical engineer within an engineering consultancy design team, delivering detailed designs for production facilities and liaising with WSP UK Building Services. Mentor junior engineers, coordinate across local and international teams, ensure compliance with UK industry standards, and drive feasibility studies from concept to tender on complex, multi-discipline projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design activities and oversee feasibility studies to meet project brief requirements and deadlines
•Coordinate design development with the WSP UK Team to ensure compliance with employer requirements and regulatory standards
•Provide detailed design deliverables and interpret complex regulations and codes for CDM and QA
•Mentor and supervise junior team members, reviewing design decisions and ensuring timely delivery
•Participate in project meetings and coordinate with multi-discipline teams to manage scope, risk, and change across the programme

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
•Minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant experience
•Hands-on experience with design deliverables including IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets, P&ID
•Membership to an accredited engineering body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE, ISHRAE, ASHRAE)
•Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360 / ACC and UK Industry Regulations
